A four ingredient loaf of bread is whipped up and baked in an hour or less, and if then stuffed in a flavorsome cheesy garlic concoction to make an excellent home made garlic bread loaf.I combined two recipes from here and here to make this, and it really is less work than it seems (provided you made your life easier by purchasing a stand mixer).
For the bread:
1½ cups warm water
1 Tbsp honey
1½ tsp salt
1½ Tbsp Active Dry Yeast
3½ cups flour
For the garlic seasoning:
2 Tbsp powdered parmesan cheese
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp dried parsley
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried rosemary
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/3 cup butter, soft
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
To make the bread, combine water, honey, salt and yeast.
Let sit for 5-10 mins until there is a foam on top.
Knead in flour until no longer sticky.
Cover with a towel and let it sit for 15 mins while preheating the oven at 425F.
Cut slits in the top and bake for 25-35 mins.
Let the bread cool a bit then cut again into the slits, keeping the bottom intact.
Mix all the seasoning ingredients in a bowl and stuff in the cooled bread slits.
Cover the loaf in foil and bake for 10-15 minutes at 350F to melt the cheese.
